The Bingham's were kind enough to invite us over to their house for the Fourth, and do they know how to throw a party!
We first went down to their pond to try our hand at fishing. The kids were super excited! Justin refused to worm the hook, so that left only me. I must not be very good at it, because I swear all the other kids caught a fish except for Coda and Gracie.
They finally gave up a resorted to catching tadpoles and playing in the mud.
After fishing we went back to the house and the kids went swimming. They had to inflatable pools and the kids had a blast!
Yes, that is a giant slingshot. Men, they are all just a bunch of big kids. Don't think for a second Coda or any other short person was the first to use this sling. After all the men, a.k.a. big kids, had their fill for slinging water balloons, there were a few water balloons left for a few kids. Coda and Gracie both got to try.
Justin and Antonio took the kids out 50 yards to catch the balloons the big kids were shooting. Justin caught a few in his hand, but after the stinging set in, he decided he better not try anymore. Coda actually caught two water balloons in his bucket. He was the only kid to catch them!
Yes, those are snowballs. I told you they threw a good party! Snowballs in Texas!! And of course Justin got in on the snowball fight too.
Fishing, swimming, slinging water balloons, snowball fight, and yes, golfing. They got it all! Justin said he was keeping up with the Antonio who was in first. He did a little tournament with Chris, Antonio, Paul, and Ian.
Gracie was trying so hard to hit the ball. It was so cute!
After everyone hit a hundred balls out in the field, someone had to go pick them up. The kids loved being pulled around in the wagon behind the lawn mower. It was like an Easter egg hunt, only for golf balls.
We enjoyed a nice BBQ with delicious salads and desserts, and then fireworks. The kids did little fireworks, and then the men set of big fireworks. Fireworks the city would have set off! They were huge and right above our heads! (some a little too close, we got some debris sitting out there)
Our Fourth of July was the best since leaving Idaho. Thank you so much Bingham's for having us over!
And thank you to all those that serve, have served, and have died for my freedom. You were in my thoughts and prayers this Independence Day.
