Justin and I decided that the kids needed a break from the monotony of every day...so we planned a family date for Saturday. We hit Ice Age:Dawn of the Dinosaurs (I thought Coda would enjoy the dinosaurs, but he had the opposite reaction) early in the morning. After that we took them to the library to get new books and a few movies for Sunday. Our phone hadn't been working, so we went to the mall to get them fixed. It was going to take an hour so we headed up to the third floor to get a bit to eat. After that we also needed to get the state inspection done on our cars, so we spent an hour at the Kwik Lube reading books! And playing games on the tile floors (who could get across the quickest, one tile at a time, simple, but it past the time for a four year old). After that we went over to Rockwall Harbor. They always love that! We stayed so they could play in the water, almost two hours! Then we came home, popped a quick meal in the microwave and then put the kids to bed! Leaving time for my husband and I to snuggle up and watch a movie, and what movie you ask?? Twilight! I told just that we were going to watch it as many times as we needed until he stayed awake through the whole thing! Threatening is the trick, girls! (I wanted him to know what was going on, so I didn't have to hear him complain about being lost when he takes me to the second movie.)
...
Overall, a great Family All-Day Date!
