It is always wonderful when family come to visit, but this November we had a very special visitor. Grandma Burnside took her first ever air plane ride when she came to visit us in Texas. It was so special to have her here with us. We had so much fun just relaxing and playing cards.
We decided to brave First Monday Days in Canton, Texas. I think Grandma might have been a little overwhelmed. We enjoyed a delicious funnel cake and pork kabobs!
The kids always love it when Grandpa and Grandma Egan come to visit. The kids love it when they get down on their level and play with them. Grandma Egan spent a lot of her time playing horses with Gracie, while Grandpa Egan even got on the floor a few times to play Legos with Coda. That's what my kids remember most, the little moments.
And what would a Texas visit be with Joe's Crab Shack? Grandma cracked up over the bib the waiter put on, but it got even funnier as he went around the table with each persons bib. Haha, how Grandpa ended up with "Hot Crabs" I just don't know. Although, I think Coda's bib was very fitting! Just kidding, they were both wonderful.
Coda begged for weeks before the Grandparents got her to play baseball. We got everyone out there, including Grandma Burnside. 83 years old and she can still swing a bat! She even played "Just Dance for Kids" with Gracie on the Wii and enjoyed the arcade at Chuck E. Cheese as much as any of us!
As their vacation starting coming to a close, I realized she had come to Dallas and hadn't really seen Dallas. So, we went in to see Pioneer Plaza. It was amazing to see all the bronze statues.
We even took a quick trip over to the Cowboy's Stadium. Unfortunately, I was too cheap to pay for a tour, so we just went to the gift shop. Grandma played the whole, "I need to use the restroom" when we were and got a small peek inside the large stadium, but security wouldn't let us get any closer than the bathroom door.
The day finally came when I had to drop them off at the airport. I always have a hard time doing this, but this time it was really hard. I cried for two days! I sure hope you come back and see us soon. Thanks for making the sacrifice to come and see us!
