Mom's All Too Short Visit

My wonderful mother flew in on Wednesday. She stayed a week, but it just wasn't long enough. I don't think we saw the sun shine the whole week, in fact the news said we experienced 3-4 months worth of rain in 1 week! We had soggy shoes and frizzy flat hair every day, but I didn't really care because I was spending time with my mom. We decided to gear our schedule towards in-door things. We hit a lot of stores for the couponing deals (I think Mom was impressed). We also toured the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. We were a little bummed that the turf wasn't out. They say it is the biggest stadium in the world....but, there most have been some kind of illusion, because it didn't seem that big to us.
Gracie crashed about half way through, but we didn't' have the stroller.

Mom and I in front of Tony Romo's locker. They said all this wood was imported from Africa. We weren't allowed to sit on the benches. (Now, why can't my sweet mother sit down? It's only going to be a matter of time before some testosterone fueled poor sport comes in and wrecks the place anyway!)

We were imagining being at a game we could never afford, in a seat we could never afford.
...
Yesterday, we decided to hit the Dallas World Aquarium. The kids have already been, but it was so cool I had to get Mom there. Checking out the otters, (Coda is hitting Gracie on the head with the map).

How could a bird so bright and beautiful stink so bad?

Last time we went the Jaguar wasn't out, so this was very cool!

Again, stinky birds.

This go around, I got to feed a bird a blueberry. The kids wouldn't do it, but Mom and I did. It was cool (in an almost-losing-finger kind of way).

These were Mom's favorite! I think they are called Dragon Fish.

I thought that the aquarium would be the same the second go around, but it wasn't. We saw a lot of new things. I think the Dallas World Aquarium is a sure bet for a good time.
We had so much fun with Grandma Egan here. I think my kids were a little lost when we got home. We can't wait until she comes to visit us again, in fact we are already making plans!

Thanks Mom for everything!

I am so glad you have a good time with your mom. I'm sure it was so wonderful to have her around. Your hair is so cute, I can't believe how much it has grown already. And, I love the pictures of Coda hitting Gracie...classic brother/sister. Talk to you soon!

I know exactly how you feel. My mom lives up in Seattle and it's always fun to have "your mom" come to visit. There isn't anything like it.
You sure do have a lot more to do in Texas than you did here in Poky! Hope all is well!
