Christmas 2011

Christmas came and went so much quicker than we were expecting. It's no wonder people start decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, it makes the world a better place. I love Christmas and the warmth it brings into our house. We will be so sad when we take down the decorations. Even Justin said how empty our house will feel.

It was just our little family this Christmas, but it was still crazy fun! When the kids got up Christmas morning, they were surprised to find an awesome "alien skateboard bike" and "a great BIG barbie house". They were so excited! After that they exchanged their gifts. I'll be honest, Gracie was a lot better about this than Coda. She was so excited about getting him a Lego ship. She asked to wrap it a million times before I finally gave into her. Then on Christmas day, she was so excited for Coda to open it that she wanted him to go first. She was so cute to watch while he opened it.

My kids were so good about opening only one present before going to church. They quickly ate their orange rolls (Pillsbury...I know, I'm lame) and then got ready for church. They looked their best as we celebrated the birth of our Savior.

Once we got back home, the kids couldn't wait! They had been patient long enough! They were really spoiled this year. Gracie got a My Little Pony unicorn from G&G Egan and a set of about seven mini My Little Ponies from G&G Mennear. Yes, our little girl loves MLP!

Coda is a Lego fanatic! He got five boxes, one of those being the very expensive Lego Police Station. G&G Mennear got him a Lego ToysRUs truck and G&G Egan got him a much needed baseball mit.

Coda loves his new bike! He wanted one with pegs, but I didn't realize he would be out there doing tricks. Yes, tricks. He'll get going up to speed, and then quickly put both feet on the back pegs and stand up. He is pretty daring/naive about it. He attempted to put both feet on the front pegs and stand up...yeah, Santa should have got him a helmet and pads, too! Daddy couldn't sit and watch Coda have all the fun. He jumped  on with him. Sometimes I'm not sure if I have just two kids or three?!

Oh, my beautiful little girl (we were eventually able to tame her wild hair)! She played with her Barbie house all day. I know that I am a little OCD about things. Like, when you play doll house I feel it is important to play with only dolls...not Gracie. She had her Barbie, Princess Dolls, lots of little ponies, a unicorn that would fly the dolls anywhere they wanted to go, and even some Legos. Yes, Legos. In my little girls realm of  imagination there is even a place for little Lego people among unicorns and Barbies.

Santa and his sexy elf had a good time putting this doll house together. They were surprised to see that the light in refrigerator turns on, the door bell rings, the chandelier lights up, the little timer on the counter dings, the tv slides up from behind the fireplace that yes, lights up and cackles, the shower sings, and the toilet flushes! It comes with every little, tiny, pain in the butt, piece you can think of. The little elf said, "now why would you need hangers? This doll house doesn't even have a closet." Well, little elf, those hangers were one of the first things Gracie grabbed. She wanted all her dresses hung up. Was it worth the money? Every penny to see her play.

Besides the absence of our families, we had a wonderful and bright Christmas!
