Better Late Than Never

I don't know why I have had a huge lack of energy (probably because I stay up way to late..12:06 a.m. as we speak), but that lack of energy means lack of enthusiasm for anything! But, I know blogging is a "must do".

Last Monday Coda had his belt test for karate. So, on Wednesday Justin and I attended Coda's belt ceremony. I was so proud, until Coda decided he didn't want to cooperate. I think he felt a lot of pressure and was almost in tears. I tried to be supportive and Mr Gorham (his teacher) was very nice about it. Although he was pouty most of the time, he turned into a little karate kid once he received his new belt. He even let me snap some pictures afterwards.

Sunday's lesson was on temple work. I guess I have always known that "the hearts of the children will be turned to their fathers", but it really struck home on Sunday. Temple work is so wonderful! Think of all those brave Saints that came before us and before temples. Can you imagine knowing that your eternal salvation was out of your hands and that you would have to depend on someone else in another dispensation to complete your work? I was brought to tears on Sunday when a thought came to mind:

There I was, standing in font of someone I had never met and with their hand upon my shoulder they said, "I am trusting you Echo."

How cool, and yet very intimidating in a humbling kind of way, to think of those hundreds that are depending on me!?

I have always been fond of genealogy and family history,
thanks to Bro. Southwick at BYU-I.
And if any of you are interest their is a new website the church as produced: http://www.new.familysearch.org/

All you need is your member number and confirmation to register. This site allows you to look at your LDS ordinances. It also allows you to link your family in pedigree charts. From there you search the records of you ancestors and combine duplicate records, thus making it easier to find those that still need temple work. YAY!

(p.s. family, I still need you to e-mail me family history info)

So, go and do the things the Lord commands!
