Well, I think it is about time I did some bragging. Justin has been so dedicated to his schooling. In the last 3 1/2 weeks he has take four test and earned....earned 100% on three, missing only one question on the fourth! He has completed seven of the eight, level one climbing competency test. Yesterday, his instructor told Justin that he ranked second in the class for his academics. What an accomplishment!
One of Justin's harder test is pulling 85lbs. up the pole five times in three minutes. Alot of the guys are a little bigger and it is a little easier to get it up there. So, I decided to feed Justin protein shakes! He workers out a little, (probably not as much as he should). I said, "I don't care if the shakes give you muscle or fat, either one will help you out when it comes to pulling 85 lbs. up the pole!"
Justin's commitment to school is hard. He wakes up at six o'clock heads to school. He studies until classes begin at eight o'clock. Most days Justin comes home around five, spends a couple of hours with the kids and I and then back to the books or weightlifting until half past ten. Wednesdays make for longer days. He stays at the school until seven o'clock to get some good studying in before his test on Thursdays. The kids and I are handling him being gone fairly well. We are just trying to look at the big picture instead of the little one.
The stresses of finding a job after school are already setting in. There are so many different companies and each one does the apprenticeship differently. Some companies don't give you a choice of where you will live or which contractor you will work for. We have narrowed the type of company down to a city utility or invested owned...but those are hard to find openings. We are willing to move to most states, but have some that we absolutely don't want to go to. In reality, it isn't really up to us. Justin and I have both agreed to do whatever we feel the Lord wants us to do...even if that means moving somewhere we really would rather not go! We jumped into this trusting the Lord, and we will finish it that way.
Wish us luck as we start applying for jobs!
