Hidden Blessings

We thought after replacing the AC unit and dealing with a broken arm and the accompanying medical bills, that our bad luck was up, but we were wrong. Justin had been dealing with a stomach pain for quite a few months and I finally convinced him to go to the doctor, where they discovered a hernia. He was operated on i late October. They fixed the most recent hernia and repaired an old one on the opposite side.

So, although the his first week and a half was rough for him, I have really enjoyed our four weeks together. We've been able to enjoy multiple day dates, catching movies, eating good food and having lazy days in bed. Unfortunately, the only photo I took was of us jamming out on the Guitar Hero we purchased from a friend.

It seemed like we were getting hit from all sides, but the more I thought about it the more I realized how very, very blessed we really are. Earlier this year, the dermatologist put me on a strong prescription that was costing close to five hundred dollars a month. Fortunately, we were able to reach our detectible using a coupon for another prescription, which in the end saved us thousands and thousands of dollars this fall. What a great blessing it was to have met our deductible with the help of the dermatologist. On top of the financial blessing, was the blessing of time. I got to spend the last four weeks full of relaxing days with my best friend and the kids loved having Daddy wake up with them and picking them up from school. We're going to miss him when he returns to work on Monday.

There are always blessings, sometimes you just have to look harder for them.
