A Good Kid

At 6:45 this morning Coda always up and out of bed. He got dressed in his new Lego Movie shirt and creeped into my bedroom. "Mom, can I wake Gracie up?" he said. I told him it was fine as long as he did it nicely. "And since it's the last day of school will you make pancakes?" (Insert grumble) I really didn't want to make pancakes. I gave him a disgruntled "we'll see". He hung his head and left the room.

I drug myself out of bed and walked in the kitchen to make pancakes, but what I found was the sweetest boy ever. He had made him and Gracie lunches for their picnic today.

His hands were covered in Nutella as he tried to push the glass down to cut the crust from the bread, like Mom does. "The sandwiches are kind of messy," he said and my heart wanted to burst out of my chest!

Sometimes I get so caught up in trying to teach him good manners and how to be kind that I forget how wonderful he already is!

I am so incredibly grateful for the wonderful children and husband that my Heavenly Father allowed me to have. I'm grateful for their forgiveness when it comes to their selfishly cranky mother and wife. And their unconditional love they have for me. I learn from all three of them every day. I love them so much!
