Another one of Texas' freakish weather reports- winter ice storm.
Kids loved the idea of no school yesterday and have had two full days playing with friends. Today, since ice pellets weren't dropping out of the sky, I let them go explore a little. By little, I mean like ten minutes because my ears were on fire.
Although we've been enjoying ourselves at home, a vital and important part has been missing. Justin has been working 15 hour shifts with 9 hours off in between since Thursday. He anticipates this for a few more days as he helps to restore the power to 250,000 residence. They brought crews from out of state to help out, but until the sun warms this place up, the weight of ice will continue to break branches that cause power outages.
I miss my lineman dearly and although I cringe every time he leaves, I'm so proud of him. I am so grateful for prayer and knowing our Father in Heaven is watching over my sweet husband.
