Kind Heart Award 2014-2015

"This student goes above and beyond every day at school. Whenever someone is in need they're there to help them out in any way and always there with a smile on their face. For example, when they notice a student struggling with some class work, they will step in and provide words of encouragement to them as well as help them out with any problems they're having. They're not only a hard worker they're a good friend to many students here at Lewis. This is because of their huge heart filled with kindness and compassion. If the student sees someone upset they're always taking the time to walk to them and comfort them. They're presents always lightens up the room. This very, well deserving recipient for Kind Heart for second grade goes to Gracie Mennear."

Sometimes, when I'm home yelling and frustrate I wonder about all the things we're doing wrong as a parents. But as I sat in the school assembly today and heard how Gracie's teacher described her. I realized that we must be doing something right. I'm sure it is a very small something, because not much has changed in Gracie since the Lord blessed our lives with her. Even as a baby she always hand kind eyes and a smile and as a toddler she was always laughing. We hear on a regular basis how sweet Gracie is. I've noticed that she doesn't discriminate when it comes to being kind. She always tries to include everyone, no matter their age, color, size or looks. I am so proud of her and I hope that her kind heart continues to grow!
