St.George, Utah Vacation

The kids were so excited to go to St. George, and I was so grateful that we found fairly cheap tickets. We got there late Wednesday, and bright and early Thursday, the kids were in Grandpa's pool.

On Friday, we went for a great ride. We didn't make it very far before Coda said he needed to go to the bathroom. Luckily, St. George had plenty of rocks to squat behind and plenty to bury "it". Hopeful, no one gets too curious about the small stack of deliberately placed rocks!

Gracie had so much fun climbing the rocks. In fact, all that day and every day after that she requested to go rock climbing.

Justin thought he was big stuff trying to take the family up the side of a dune. Well, huh. We sunk and the more he pushed on the gas the more he covered me in sand! I'm still not sure why I let Coda sit in the front seat. Sitting behind Justin was the worse place to be.

We made a day trip out of it and Grandpa and Grandma took us over to see the dinosaur foot prints. It was cool and creepy at the same time.

And Coda was so excited when he got to drive part of the way home. He is just growing up too fast.

After a long day, we decided it was best that we not cook. So, Grandma and Grandpa took us out to eat. We hit an awesome steak house when you cook your own steak on a hot slab of rock. Coda thought he was pretty big stuff doing it all by himself. And Gracie, well, Gracie learned not to listen to dumb waiters that say "you can touch it you just have to be really fast." She touched the rock when no one was looking and got a terrible burn on her finger.

We relaxed all of Saturday. The kids had a blast in the pool, jumping off of decks, doing front flips and all those things that make a mother panic. We also drew names and had a mini pool and Foosball tournament, with prizes courtesy of Grandma. Then, Grandpa even let Coda ride the fourwheeler. He loved every second of it and only got off because his thumb hurt.

We took a Sunday drive up Kolob Canyon. Even though the clouds didn't cooperate with us, we still had a great time and even got into a little snowball fight....instigated by Grandma and Grandpa! And the kids loved spotting all the wildlife. Coda had great eyes and spotted a herd of deer. We also saw a bald eagle!

Then, we drove up through Zion's Park. It was absolutely breathtaking. Even with the cloud cover, it was so majestic!

Our vacation was so wonderful. We were scrambling the last day trying to see if we could extend our stay, even just one more day. Unfortunately, we couldn't, but I am so grateful for the time we did have together. I am grateful that I got to see and feel my Heavenly Father's love for me and my family. We are truly blessed!
