We are so grateful that our family could come see Coda be baptized. The baptism alone would have made for a great weekend, but we added a few cherries on top!
We relaxed a bit the first night G&G Egan, G&G Mennear and Grandma Karlson got here, but there wasn't much relaxing after that. Friday we went to Shenaniganz for a little competitive bowling. It was so much fun! Then who couldn't resist the go-karts!? It was the first time Coda got to drive by himself. I think he was a little nervous at first. And of course we had a couple of bucks to waste on the arcades. After what seemed like a full day at Shenaniganz, we scooted across Dallas to Medieval Times. I haven't been there since I was a little girl, so it brought back some fun memories.
We got there in plenty of time to get good seats. So much time, Grandpa Mennear decided to take the kids to the torture chamber. I guess I was expecting a little more "family friendly" facts. Nope. Naked illustrations of almost every torture on the wall. Needless to say, I rushed the kids out of there as fast as I could!
Dad couldn't let the kids go away without a souvenir, so Gracie ended up with a tiny (finger sized) stuffed dragon and Coda a wooden sword.
Surprisingly, the food was good. Its been two weeks and Coda can't stop talking about the "huge chicken" and Justin won't be quiet about the tomato soup...yep, you read that right. He liked the tomato soup! We were a little nervous about whether or not Coda would eat with his fingers, but one taste and that was it. He also loved that you could burp and not say "excuse me" because, "back in the past they didn't say 'excuse me.'"
While Coda was thrilled about the sword fighting and weapons, Gracie was swooning over the horses, that is until the Red Knight threw her a flower! Then she spent the rest of the night collecting all the carnations from the ladies at our table. I know they both loved it, because they are begging to go back!
Of course we couldn't have family visit without a trip to Joe's Crab Shack. Delicious!
I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family.Thank you everyone for making the trip to see us. Hurry back!
