The Work and the Glory

On Sunday, I finished the 9th volume of The Work and the Glory by Gerald N. Lund. It took me just over two months, but I enjoyed every minute of reading. Some how, this author was able to place members of one family at pivotal times in the LDS Church history, without breaking the story.

My appreciate for the simple things in life, like running water and cars, has grown, along with a deeper love for the early saints and the prophet Joseph Smith. The miracles and mercies of our Heavenly Father where brought to life, and at times I felt like I was there experiencing them for myself. I learned so much about the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the struggles they faced as early pioneers and all the while enjoying a good story! I count it a blessing that I was able to read this series. It was a wonderful experience that I will definitely do again!

(Don't be intimidated by there being so many books, once you get pass the first book and half of the second you'll really enjoy them)
